Press ReleasesA BIG WEEK FOR MUAYTHAI IN BANGKOK WITH TWO EFN DATES CONFIRMED

Last week was a busy few days in Bangkok’s muaythai community with a number of events centered around the one-week Muaythai Festival organized by the Sport Authority of Thailand. In addition to recognizing Muaythai Day on February 6, the festival gave a number of key players the platform on which to announce their future plans for the sport.

The International Federation of Muaythai Amateur (IFMA) held its annual board meeting during the festival before announcing a number of upcoming events at a press briefing the following day. One of the highlights of the press briefing was the confirmation by Bangkok based muaythai pioneers Elite Boxing that two more of its Elite Fight Night (EFN) events will take place in the UAE and Greece in March and April, respectively. The EFN events will serve as qualifiers for the new King’s Cup Final scheduled for Bangkok on July 28 in honor of the King of Thailand’s birthday.

Elite Boxing’s Toli Makris joined Tareq Al Muhairi, Head of the Muaythai Federation of the UAE, in announcing the EFN UAE event. The pair signed an official agreement to stage the event on March 8.

The second EFN event will take place in Athens, Greece on April 20. Serving as the European Qualifier for the King’s Cup Final, the event will be co-hosted by EB and Iron Challenge promoter, Mike Zambidis.

More information about the fight cards and other event details will be available soon.
